LEGISLATIVE UPDATES

It’s time for South Carolina to modernize its medical laws.

That means it’s time for South Carolina to finally allow Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologists (CRNAs) to practice to the fullest extent of their education and training.

We need to remove outdated regulatory barriers that inhibit access to anesthesia care and instead empower South Carolina medical facilities to modernize systems and implement the best community-based care models to deliver safe, cost-effective anesthesia care when and where it’s needed most.

The most effective way to do that is to remove supervision requirements over CRNAs, ensure that each health-care facility has the flexibility to utilize CRNAs in the ways that best meets the needs of their communities, and grant limited prescriptive authority to allow CRNAs to effectively order and administer timely care to their patients when and where it’s needed most.

Make sure your voice is heard. Learn more about the SC CRNA PAC.
